Title: Experienced wood finisher

LOCATION: Bakes & kropp - production workshop, MOUNT CLEMENS, MICHIGAN

Our experienced wood finishers are a part of the creation in defining high qualify craftmanship.  We provide an environment that allows individuals to sharpen their skills, learn new techniques, and excel in their field. Our ideal candidate would bring the enthusiasm, passion and willingness to learn our wood finishing methods along with your prior knowledge to be a part of a team in the creation of each piece of fine cabinetry.  

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an Experienced Wood Finisher from professionally gained experiences in the trade or a passionate hobbyist of wood crafting. What we would like from you is the enthusiasm, willingness and professionalism to learn our methods in the creation of each piece of fine cabinetry, including but not limited to the following: 

  • A motivated and energetic individual that is looking to further your career while working with a team of finishers, gaining additional knowledge and education of the trade.

  • Must be teachable! Even if you are experienced, everyone stepping into this role must learn our step-by-step methods. You must be able to receive instruction, try hands on, keep improving from the feedback given and then learn our next steps. We want you to show us how you can apply your previous experience with our methods. 

  • Understanding that while our processes must be followed to maintain our level of fine cabinetry, we still encourage your feedback as well. 

  • Someone that is looking to take their career to the next level of professionalism by always demonstrating positivity with a can-do attitude. 

  • You must be adaptable, and receive positive constructive criticism daily.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are highly important.

What you will do and what is required:

You will apply the steps of finishing from sanding, prepping, staining and spraying including dyes, stains, glazes, catalyzed finishes and paints as you work up to custom color matching and specialty finishes.

  • You will read and interpret cabinetry prints and work orders.

  • Have the effective skills in coordinating timing, as you learn to follow blueprints and organizational processes per job order. 

  • Learn to successfully coordinate pieces of cabinetry as they rotating among the areas of the finishing department. 

  • Successful candidates will be learning each step of utilizing finishing tools and techniques involving all phases. 

    You must have the mindset to learn our methods of finishing. This will directly pertain to our high-quality standards that we must uphold as our commitment to our client base. This process will include continuous daily feedback as you learn our processes. We are looking for a teammate that has the ability to positively accept this feedback.   • Full time employment plus overtime

  • 45-50 hours per week year round 

  • Early morning shift M-TH 6:00am – 3:30pm, F 6:00am – 2:30pm

    *Saturdays are optional overtime as we value a family work-life balance
